Energy efficiency label A for Heimeier thermostatic valves. The newly developed European product classification system TELL for energy efficiency labelling of thermostatic valves offers now a fast guide to products offering the largest energy savings. After successful testing through the well-known consumer institute Stiftung Warentest, Germany’s market leader in thermostatic valves Heimeier is able to apply the TELL categories to the following products: Thermostatic head K-standard, Thermostatic head K with zero position, Thermostatic head K-scale with temperature values, Thermostatic head K with remote sensor 2 m and Thermostatic head DX. These Heimeier products were awarded the best energy efficiency rating A.
The consistent usage of highly efficient thermostatic valves is an important step in reaching future climate protection goals. Replacement of old thermostatic valves from the 70s and 80s is a small and fast amortising investment considering the expected energy savings of up to 10 percent. Even more effective is the replacement of manual radiator valves with modern thermostatic valves which provides an energy saving potential of over 20 percent.
Based on these facts the new energy labelling system TELL (Thermostatic Efficiency Label) was developed.
The following classification criteria are essential for the labelling of categories A to F:
- Water temperature effect
- Closing time
- Differential pressure influence
The usage of the labelling system is open to all manufacturer, who recognize the regulations of the TELL system. However, only products which fulfil the EN 215 standard are allowed to be tested and labelled.
