Hydronic balancing technology quickly delivers effective indoor climate solution for new building.

The Challenge

The National Blood Centre was challenged with reducing the amount of time spent, not only installing individual hydronic balancing valves in the waterborne system, but also commissioning the system itself for the two new buildings.

Combined with the construction of the new buildings, investment was to be made into supplying new IT systems along with ongoing equipment replacement and renewal programmes. The completion of the overall project provides the required capacity and flexibility to meet emerging developments and future technologies.

The Solution

IMI Hydronic Engineering presented TA-H.U.B.® , the latest technology for specifiers, as a solution in meeting these objectives. This customized balancing solution allows you to balance up to eight terminal units from one location, delivering unparalleled convenience by enabling access to functions from outside restricted areas, shortening balancing time and ensuring easier trouble shooting and maintenance.

TA-H.U.B.® was particularly suited to the new build due to its single location, where time spent on maintenance of waterborne systems is significantly reduced as well as eliminating the need for engineers to be in restricted areas. Blank points were left on the unit to enable the site to extend for future heating and chilling if required. The prefabricated unit is supported by TA Select 3, a software package that aids the design of efficient waterborne systems by specifying the correct valves according to individual requirements.

The solution delivered by IMI Hydronic Engineering with its cutting edge technology, TA-H.U.B.®, achieved the requirements set by the National Blood Centre in reducing the installation and commissioning time of the balancing valves as well as providing a comfortable climate in the two buildings.
