MTC Poort Centraal

Den Haag, Netherlands -

The project is a large government building of 90,000m2. IMI Aero-Dynamiek won the project in January 2018, due to its expertise in plumbing and in health code regulations for plumbing and HVAC systems.

IMI Aero-Dynamiek implemented a digital platform allowing the customer to have real-time management of all systems in a digital log. The log is available 24/7, and notifies the client of any maintenance the system might need as well as alerts to problems as soon as they arise.

The Project

The project is in the city of Den Haag in the Netherlands, it is a large government building of 90,000m2. IMI Aero-Dynamiek won the project in January 2018, due to its expertise in plumbing and in health code regulations for plumbing and HVAC systems. As this is a service commissioning project, it is ongoing and IMI Aero-Dynamiek continues to provide Testing and Performance services for the client.

The Hydronic Challenge

The challenge was the size of building, it required extensive testing to ensure legionella prevention and clean drinking water and to make sure the system met the requirements for its BRL6010 certification.

The Solution

The main role of Aero-Dynamiek was to commission the whole plumbing system of the 90,000m2 building to ensure it complied with the most current health code legislations ensuring the safety of the water system its users.

During the commissioning process they performed system flushings, temperature measurements, system checks, water-sampling, placement of monitoring sensors, cleaning and disinfecting, as well as coordinated numerous maintenance jobs. This provided the client with an operational and performance qualification which ensured safe water quality.

To ensure legionella prevention IMI Aero-Dynamiek implemented a digital platform allowing the customer to have real-time management of all systems in a digital log. The log is available 24/7, and notifies the client of any maintenance the system might need as well as alerts to problems as soon as they arise. The team also checked all 1,100 water drinking points in the building to make sure they were safe to use. The IMI Aero-Dynamiek team has an ongoing contract with the client to annually check the 330 valves in the system to prevent any possible flow issues.
