Global Fund’s Campus Santé headquarters Precise modulating control and unparalleled diagnostic capability to provide ongoing high performance.

The Project
The Global Fund headquarters, located in Grand-Saconnex, Switzerland and hosts key players in the area of global health such as Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The building will house over 1’400 people and has a surface of 15,000 square meters and a gross floor surface of 40,000 square meters, including the basements.

The Challenge
The building is meant to serve as a catalyst for more collaboration and cooperation for today’s most important health topics, so having the building up and running fast was crucial. In addition, a key motivation for the project was efficiency and reducing energy costs and utilities. The hydronic solution designed was one for both heating and cooling

The Solution
The leading hydronic control solutions for changeover systems combines the TA-6-way valve, TA-Modulator Pressure independent balancing and control valve and TA-Slider digital actuators. This solution replaces four conventional valves and brings a new level of control to fan coils and radiant ceiling installations in large buildings. It delivers precise modulating control and unparalleled diagnostic capability to provide ongoing high performance, yet the capacity to accelerate commissioning times is what really stood out as per the Global Fund requirements

Prior to the installation, representatives of the main contractor, Minerg-Appelsa Services SA, visited the Hydronic College in Eysins to attend a training session with Jean-Christophe Carrette. They discovered more about the advantages of dynamic balancing over manual balancing and during two short sessions were taught how to configure our unique changeover solution for optimal efficiency.

“The original design specified different components,” said Jean-Christophe Carette, Head of Technology for IMI He. “However, once the Minerg-Appelsa team discovered more about the simplicity and flexibility of our changeover solution it reconsidered, especially as we were able to match the original costings.”
One thousand units were installed across seven floors of the 2700 m2 facility in June 2017 and commissioning was achieved in just four days – with each TA-Slider 160 Plus taking only 2 minutes to configure!
A series of 6-way valves, TA-Modulator and TA-Slider 160 Plus significantly reduces commissioning times
